When is the best time to go?
The peak season is January through March perfect for escaping the cold north American winter. This is when you are least likely to encounter rain although precipitation is possible any time of the year. The period of April through June is often referred to as the "green season" usually bringing only occasional showers, however the countryside blossoms and wildlife is visible abundant. For many Costa Rica travelers, the "green season" is the perfect time.
How are the accommodations?
We strive to provide the rider with an authentic Costa Rica experience which means selecting lodging that is less pretentious steering clear of the "mega resort" scene. ( in other words leave your golf clubs at home ). We have carefully selected hotels, lodges and quaint bed and breakfast where riders, whether on a self guided EASY RIDER tour or on the Full Service Guide Tour, will receive fine service and attention is a setting that is guaranteed to make your holiday one to remember. Although for most tastes we feel our offering is more than suitable, an upgrade is available on the EASY RIDER tours.
What about the motorcycles?
Regardless of what you ride back home, our riders consistently comment there simply is no better motorcycle for Costa Rica than the KTM 640 LC4, Aprilia Pegaso 650 Trail. Light weight, smooth performance, a fine handler, ample power and touring comfort, single cylinder, electric start machine is for a single or two up. You will wan to explore Costa Rica, discover its back roads, native villages and pristine beaches. Your daily distances are relatively short and your load will be light so the motorcycles are up to the task.
Are the roads paved?
The itineraries are designed to be almost entirely on paved roads, however you can not experience the natural side of Costa Rica without traveling occasionally on well surfaced but unpaved roads. Some of the approaches to our lodges are not paved however we stress that any experienced road rider can easily handle the unpaved portions. By design we are cautious to avoid anything which is to technical. For those who wish to explorer, the KTM 640 LC4, Aprilia Pegaso 650 Trial is perfectly suited for off the beaten path touring.
